In case you need to smile :)

Here are a couple of the cutest videos you have ever seen to brighten your day!

By the way, Jackson turns SIX MONTHS tomorrow!!!  I can't believe our little baby is already almost half a year.  Time goes by really fast.  Unfortunately, his 6 month appointment isn't until next Monday, so we'll do a big 6 month post next week after we have his stats.

Is this real life?

Today Court and I were at a reception and we were sitting while snacking and visiting. I started a conversation by saying "When we have kids . . ." I was about that far into my thought when I realized what I said and that I was holding Jackson on my lap.

A Trip, a Holiday, and a Birthday

We have had a busy couple of weeks!  Welcome to summer!

The last week of June we went to Seattle for a quick visit with Shawn' family so his siblings could meet Jackson.  Shawn had a few vacation days to use from his old job, so we took advantage before he started his new job this week!

We took Jackson to the park behind Shawn's parents' house and had lots of fun!  It was Jackson's first time at the park!

And of course this cute video of Jackson in the swing!  We got some really cute giggles :)

Jackson had lots of fun playing on Grandma's playmat.  She was even nice enough to let us bring it home!!
Jackson had fun playing with his cousin Derick.  Derick was very good at sharing his toys!
Playing with Aunt Andrea
Jackson saying happy birthday to Aunt Elisa!
We had a fun time in Washington with Shawn's family!  We got back Sunday, Shawn started his new job Monday, and then had the day off on Wednesday for the 4th of July!  We had a relaxing afternoon and decided to let Jackson try out the little kiddie pool we bought for him in our backyard to see how he liked it.  It was quite a success!  Jackson loved splashing in the water and had a great time.

Later in the day we met up with our friends to see the Stadium of Fire fireworks show in Provo.  We had a picnic dinner and waited until dark.  Jackson fell asleep for about 40 minute before the fireworks started, woke up during them, and just sat and stared as the fireworks lit up the sky.  We had a fun night!

Thursday was my birthday!  Shawn got up and made breakfast burritos before he went to work so we could have breakfast together!
Jackson took a nice long morning nap to give me plenty of time to get ready for the day, and then Jackson and I went to Shawn's new office for lunch and brought Cafe Rio!  It was fun to see where he works and meet some of his new co-workers, and nice to get out of the house for lunch :)  Jackson and I came home and took a nice nap (he got to cuddle with mommy since it was a special day).  After Shawn got home from work we headed up to Provo for dinner at Olive Garden.  All in all, it was a very relaxing day with my two favorite boys!  Before putting Jackson down for bed we took some family pictures.
Our first attempt at using the timer ;)

5 months!

Our little Jackson turned 5 months old on Saturday!  I have decided that this is definitely my favorite stage so far!

At 5 months, Jackson ...
-  has been on 6 different airplanes and in 5 different airports
- is really good at grabbing things (toys, blankets, mommy's hair and necklaces, paper, and pretty much anything else he can get his hands on)
- puts EVERYTHING in his mouth
- is good at passing his toys from one hand to the other
- drools like crazy and has been teething for about a month and a half; no teeth yet
- is finally sleeping at least 7.5-9 hours straight at night and takes 3 naps per day
- sometimes likes eating his rice cereal, but usually makes it pretty interesting for mommy and daddy
- loves to hear mommy and daddy sing songs
- loves to say "hi" and screech and squeal to let everyone know that he is here
- can roll from his tummy to his back and is SO CLOSE to rolling from his back to tummy
- has scooted backward while on his tummy a few times
- has lots of fun splashing in his tub during bath time
- likes to watch the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while eating his rice cereal in the mornings
- is really starting to show is personality, and I have a feeling we are going to have a little goofball on our hands!  He likes to be silly and shake his head back and forth as if he is saying "no" to us, and loves to giggle when we play with him.  He especially loves when daddy tickles him and tosses him (not very high) in the air.

Here are some fun pictures from the last month!
Look at our reverent baby!  He sits like this on his own often :)
We recently discovered how much Jackson loves to play the piano!  My future musician!
Like I said, he puts everything in his mouth ;)
Loves mommy's watch!
Our favorite game!
Peek-a-boo!
Look at that sweet drool line on his collar
