Mommy and daddy surprised Jackson with a balloon when he woke up in the morning. He was so excited for his balloon, and carried it around with him for the next hour an a half.
Jackson and mommy went and fed the duckies at the Salem Pond in the morning. It is one of his favorite pastimes :)
After we finished feeding the ducks, we picked up some food and went over to daddy's office for lunch! Jackson really likes to go visit daddy at work. I forgot to take pictures, but we had a fun time.
Jackson and mommy came home from lunch and both got to take a nice long nap :) After dinner that evening, we had the Kaouks, cousin Kayla, the Stuarts, and Vilja over for dessert and presents. Jackson isn't a huge cake fan, but he is a cookie fanatic! So, mommy made him a giant cookie for his birthday, and we ate it with ice cream. We even put a candle in his big cookie. Rather than trying to blow out his candle, Jackson tried grabbing it which gave us all a pretty good laugh. Jackson had lots of practice opening presents at Christmas, so he was all ready to go for his birthday! All of his presents were things that he loves, and we have had a lot of fun playing with them since.
This is just a really cute video of Jackson laughing at his dog during dinner :) I love his laugh!!

Jackson has turned into such a fun little boy. We love watching him learn new things every day. Here are some fun things about Jackson at 2 years old.
- Jackson's favorite snacks are pretzels and fruit snacks. He asks for pretzels on a daily basis. He also loves chicken nuggets and grilled cheese.
- LOVES to talk. He picks up new words and phrases every day. Sometimes Shawn and I are amazed at the things that come out of his mouth. Some of my favorite phrases he has picked up are the exclamations from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse ("Oh boy!", "Oh my!", and "Oh dear!"), "Read to you" (when he wants us to read to him), "Where are YOU?", "buh-BYE", "see ya," and "love you!" He's also really good at saying "thank you," "welcome," "please", and "bless you."
- Still loves animals. He can name and do animal sounds for quite a few different animals. His favorite movie right now is Aristocats (or "Kitties" as Jackson calls it). If the screen is on people for too long, he brings the remote over and asks for "kitties".
- Some of his favorite things to play with are puzzles, cars/trucks, and balls. He is learning his colors (is pretty good at blue and yellow) and his shapes. He also still LOVES books. One night he pulled every book off of his bookshelf, one at a time, and asked daddy to read them to him. His favorites are his Dr. Seuss books.
Notice the pile of books by their heads that daddy has already read. Jackson has an awesome daddy! |
- When I ask Jackson, "Are you mommy's little monster?" he always gets a big smile on his face and growls back :)
- Loves to run around and play with the big kids. He always has lots of fun when Tommy or his cousins come over and he can chase them around.
- Is a very sweet boy that loves to give hugs. On his birthday, we told him to say thank you to everyone. He went around and gave everyone in the room a hug! He also loves babies. Jackson is going to be a great big brother in a few months!
We sure love our little guy!
